FAQs
How does Connect The Dots work?
We analyze email threads from all your personal and professional accounts and give you a beautiful, unified view of your history with each person you know. It’s amazing when you see it for the first time.
You can view all the people you’ve emailed with along with rich insights into how you met, where they are now, and who you know in common.
We then build a perfect network map for you to search and explore. Ask co-workers, friends, customers, or partners for warm introductions to anyone in their network.
If there’s a way to connect with someone, we’ll show it to you.
Isn’t that what LinkedIn is for?
LinkedIn is a parallel universe. Connections are made from a single point in time and usually without context. How many times have you heard (or said) “Sorry - I don’t actually know that person.”…?
Your real connections live within the thousands of emails in your inbox. Because Connect The Dots is built from that email history, it’s a much more accurate view of reality.
What if I’m not trying to make new connections?
Joining Connect The Dots helps out your friends and coworkers (including Christopher (Chris) Harrison!) even if you’re not actively looking for insights or to grow your network. Connect The Dots empowers people like Christopher (Chris) Harrison and your other friends and coworkers to see your network and ask you for introductions. From there, it’s entirely up to you whether to make the connections.
Do I need to be concerned about security and privacy?
Our #1 value is to be ethical: Do no harm, do not enable harm, and encourage good deeds. We understand the extreme sensitivity of your email content. Connect The Dots has been been architected to keep your information safe and keep you in control. We never store any of your email content (aside from email signatures, which are parsed automatically) and if you want to view a message, we dynamically load it directly from your email provider into your browser. Once you’re done reviewing it, it’s gone from our system.
What information will I be sharing with my connections and coworkers?
Your connections and coworkers only see the existence of relationships: who you know, how well you know them, and nothing else.
What if I want to limit what I share? (Or share nothing at all?)
You are in complete control of your privacy on Connect The Dots. You can hide & block people and choose exactly who sees your network.
Is there any cost?
Connect The Dots is free for life for individuals and teams. For companies we offer an Enterprise Edition which includes connectors, custom data retention policies, user tracking and team communication for $24 per employee per month. Visit the pricing page for more detail.
What do I do once I join?
We offer a complementary 20-min white-glove onboarding for all new members. We’ll show you around, help you explore your data, and make sure you’re fully prepared to take advantage of your new networking superpowers!
What permission do you need from my email account?
We will request read-only access to your Gmail, Google Workspace/GSuite, Outlook365, or Hotmail account so that we can ingest and parse your email messages to find out who you know and how well you know them.
We’ll be adding support for even more email providers in the future.
Do you store or copy my emails?
We securely store only your email headers & footers, including the “to”, “from”, “cc”, date & time, subject lines, and signatures.
We do not store the content of your emails (but you can view it on-demand.)
You can delete your account at any time and your data will vanish (along with - sadly - your superpowers.)
