Is there a different strategy for working with super connectors?

There are two different approaches to sourcing warm introductions.

#1 Search centric: I am going to search Connect The Dots for a person or a target account and see who in my network has a connection and might be helpful. Using this pattern I'll look through my contacts first, and then see if there are potential contacts who look interesting.

#2 Connector centric: I've got someone who has offered to help and I want to identify the places where they could have the greatest impact. Rather than bombard them with one-off requests, I want to do the legwork to see where their network maps up to target accounts I'm trying to reach, and prioritize my asks.

This second approach works particularly well with super connectors.

What are super connectors?

Super connector is a term that we use to describe someone with a lot of connections, a lot of clout, or both. It might include CEOs, Investors, Advisors, or Community Leaders. For these types of individuals their time is valuable and their impact can be huge.
