Inviting people to Connect The Dots

Because our Enterprise Connector automatically brings the entire company onto the platform, all employees’ networks are connected, which means Enterprise users will immediately see potential contacts when they use the app.

After the team gets familiar with the app, a critically important next step is to invite well-connected supporters, partners, and customers to join the platform. We recommend starting with board members, advisors, and other investors—people with strong connections and a vested interest in seeing your company succeed.

Bringing just a few of these people onto Connect The Dots is a quick, easy way to extend your team’s reach significantly.

The invitation process is simple. Just log in to the app and click the Invite button on the dashboard. You will have an option to cut and paste an invite link or send an HTML email invite. When you send the HTML email invitations, you will have the option to include a personal note. We strongly recommend writing one.

Because many of the people you invite won’t be familiar with Connect The Dots, it helps to be specific, succinct, and benefit-driven. Everyone you invite to the platform should know what’s in it for them.

To help make the invitation process easier and more effective, we’ve written some standard invites for you to copy, paste, and customize.

For each, we’ve included a subject line, which you can use if you send invite links by email. If you use the invite functionality inside the app, subjects and openings won’t be necessary.

It will be a huge help for us, and it’s a great tool to help you leverage your network, too.

Sales manager to sales team

Subject: We should all be using Connect The Dots

Hi everybody,

At this point, you should have gotten some emails about Connect The Dots, a new tool we’re testing. I want to reinforce some of the best ways we can use it:

  • Target account prospecting. Connect The Dots shows you who you know that has strong connections at your target accounts. It’s a great way to do account research and make inroads with your early outreach to prospects.
  • Multithreading deals. You can use Connect The Dots to find connections to different stakeholders at the companies where you’re working a deal. It’s a great way to proactively protect your sale and lay the groundwork for horizontal account growth.
  • Preparing for calls.  If you’ve got a meeting on the calendar and need context, Connect The Dots shows the people you have in common, email history, and professional background of anyone you’re in touch with.

Remember that Connect The Dots has a Chrome Extension that overlays LinkedIn, so you can easily do all this stuff right there on a person’s LinkedIn profile or a company page.

One last point. Connect The Dots is a networked product, so it gets better as more people join. One of the best things you can do is invite customers or partners to get on the platform and connect with you. They can use it just like you do—to find better connections to people and companies they want to reach. So it’s a win-win.

Connect The Dots has offered to coach us as we use the product, so let me know if you’re interested.
