Career Overlaps
When you're researching a contact in Connect The Dots, we show you all the people that you know who have worked together or overlapped. It makes it simple and frictionless to find a good reference or find someone who can introduce you to that person.
Once you've identified your connector, just click on the "Ask Button" and we'll launch a default email template with all the relevant details. When you hit send, it'll send from your email, and responses are tracked in the Ask Inbox.
Sending a couple of these inquiry emails a week is a very effective use of time.
- Investors - Reach hard-to-crack CEOs
- Recruiters - Get reference checks
- Sellers - Get insight, influence, and multi-thread deals
- Job Seekers - See how you can reach the hiring manager
Tips On Overlapping Contacts
- Everyone you know is a potential connector.
- When you are researching a contact, you want to see who in your network is a former coworker of theirs.
- The list is sorted by relationship score, and you can see the exact years they worked together.
- Our algorithm takes company size and role similarity into consideration. This makes certain career overlaps jump out.
- The more sources you connect (Work Email, Personal Email, LinkedIn, etc.) the more insight we can give you into your network.
- Overlapping contacts works across your contacts, potential contacts, and even 3rd-degree contacts.

What is an example of an email template?
Subject: Did you overlap with <full name>?
Hey <first name>,
It looks like you worked with < full name> at <insert company>.
Do you know them well enough to share a few insights or put me in touch?
<sender’s first name>
