Security and Privacy
Connect The Dots was founded by a team of Salesforce veterans. Our #1 value is to be ethical. Do no harm. Do not enable harm. We understand the extreme sensitivity of your email content. At every level, we want to instill the utmost confidence in how we approach security and privacy, and overcome any concerns about the privacy and protection of your data.
There is a short blog post outlining our commitment to security and privacy. It is a good one to share with your team. For those who are interested we have a more technical explanation below.
Application Level
This is about putting our users in control
- We offer two choices for account access. One is a more conservative, metadata-only option.
- You can select who your network sharing model. It can be private, custom, or my contacts (default).
- When you share your network, other users can only see the name, title, company, relationship strength. That's it!
- If you want to block specific people or companies, or hide contacts; we've got you covered.
- You can disconnect your account any time. Once your account is disconnected, all data is deleted from the system.
Platform Level
This is about how it is architected
- No one at CTD has access to any of your data.
- We never store email bodies. Users can view them in CTD because we dynamically load the content from the respective email API (Google or Microsoft).
- There is no admin user with superuser powers who can see your email bodies.
- We can delete your accounts at your request. This deletes all data related tied to your accounts.

Infrastructure
This is about who we have entrusted to host our data
- Connect The Dots runs on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- User Data is fully encrypted at rest and in transit.
- GCP maintains all major certifications – ISO/IEC, SOC 1/2/3, etc.
- We have implemented a number of technical and organizational security measures with the goal of further protecting your data.
- We have a trust page, so you have a real-time view of our system status.
